Newcastle United supporters were interested in Norwich City’s Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal.

It is arguably fair to say that Jacob Murphy’s time at Newcastle has not exactly gone to plan since his summer move from Norwich City, with the winger only making four Premier League appearances to date, including just one start in that time.
Of course, the youngster needs time and opportunities to play before he is fully judged, but he would have undoubtedly loved to have made a bigger impact by this stage.
Josh Murphy
So perhaps the last thing Murphy needed for the sake of his Magpies career was his twin brother Josh Murphy scoring a wonderful goal at the Emirates to stun Arsenal during their Canaries’ Carabao Cup tie.
It was a brilliantly-timed run from Murphy who was played through by James Maddison. And, demonstrating all the composure that you would expect to see from some of the best strikers to have played in front of the Gunners fans down the years, Murphy managed to take full advantage of the chance, dinking the ball over Matt Macey to give Norwich the lead shortly after the half-hour mark.

Arsenal would ultimately be the ones to book their place in the next round, but they needed extra-time to secure the 2-1 win.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, many Newcastle fans took to Twitter after seeing Murphy’s goal and asked the same question regarding the business that Rafa Benitez did in the summer to bring his brother to St James’ Park.
Here is the best of the reaction…
