Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and Unai Emery’s Aston Villa will have to pay £27 million in transfer fees for Villarreal and Senegal international forward Nicolas Jackson, according to The Daily Mail.
The report has claimed that Newcastle, Everton and Bournemouth all have expressed interest in signing Jackson from La Liga club Villarreal in the January transfer window.
Villa manager Unai Emery also wants the 21-year-old forward.
Emery worked with the youngster, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, at Villarreal.
The Daily Mail have reported that Jackson has a buy-out clause of £27 million in his contract at the Yellow Submarine.
Newcastle United or Aston Villa for Nicolas Jackson?
In our view, Aston Villa could have a better chance of signing Nicolas Jackson than Newcastle United from Villarreal in the January transfer window.
The Senegalese could be tempted to move to Villa and reunite with his former Villarreal boss Emery.
The Villans are a big and established club in the Premier League, and although they have not been great so far this season, they will be fine under the former Arsenal boss.
At this stage of his career, Jackson needs a manager who coaches him well and uses him the right way.
Emery could be that manager.
