Newcastle United are now exploring offering Alexander Isak to Juventus to strike a transfer for Dusan Vlahovic. But the Serie A side are unlikely to accept a straight swap this summer.

That is according to CalcioMercatoWeb, which reports that Eddie Howe is mulling sending Isak to Turin to sign Vlahovic. The Newcastle coach is keen to upgrade his attack in the off-season. So, he may axe the Sweden international inside one year of his arrival on Tyneside.

Newcastle broke the bank to sign Isak from Real Sociedad in a club-record £63m transfer in August. But the 23-year-old sustained a thigh injury in September which derailed his debut campaign. The 37-cap star has started six of his nine Premier League fixtures for four goals.

Newcastle are exploring offering Isak to Juventus to sign Vlahovic

Isak registered his latest strike on Saturday to help Newcastle edge Wolves 2-1 at St James’ Park. But despite him having a £120k-a-week contract until June 2028, Howe may move on already. Although Juventus would want more than just Isak in a swap transfer for Vlahovic.

Newcastle have now begun exploring offering Isak to Juventus to sign Vlahovic in a straight swap transfer. But the Bianconeri are not inclined to accept the deal as the Serie A side will strive to monetize the Serbian if the 23-year-old is to leave Turin at the end of this season.

Vlahovic only joined Juventus in January 2022 from Fiorentina for €70m (£61.5m), rising by €10m (£9m) with potential future add-ons. He also agreed to sign a £220k-a-week contract until June 2026. But the 19-cap international has just 10 goals in 26 appearances this term.

The Serbian has further only scored eight times through his 17 Serie A outings following his groin injury. It sidelined Vlahovic from October to January and he has only scored twice in the Italian top-flight since. Both goals came in a 3-0 win against Salernitana on February 7.

How much does Juventus want and which other clubs are interested?

Yet Juventus value Vlahovic at €100m (£88m), per Sport Mediaset, which also reports that his agent is approaching potential suitors. Darko Ristic has spoken with a number of teams around Europe, particularly in the Premier League, to see which clubs could target a move.

One club who may sign the striker Bianconeri hero Alessio Tacchinardi calls ‘extraordinary’ is Paris Saint-Germain. CalcioMercatoWeb has also reported recently that the Ligue 1 team are willing to pay an initial €60m (£53m). So, Newcastle may need to increase their package.
