Chancel Mbemba has been on the fringes at Newcastle this season.

Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba has informed fans on Instagram that he will return from injury “soon” as he looks to overcome a knee injury suffered in training.
The 23-year-old went down in training earlier this month with the knee problem, ruling him out of the Toon’s last two Premier League matches as well as the FA Cup win over Luton Town.

The DR Congo international has been on the fringes of Newcastle’s squad this season, featuring only nine times in the Premier League with competition rife in the form of captain Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Ciaran Clark.
But the former Anderlecht defender could return ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Premier League champions Chelsea on Sunday, in match that may see Rafa Benitez hand Mbemba a rare start.
He posted “Bientôt”, which translates to “soon”.
The 41-time international has struggled to have a huge impression at St. James’ Park since his move from Belgian champions Anderlecht in 2015, making only 58 appearances in that time.
But he still has more than two years remaining on his contract and his pace, strength and determination could see him eventually break into Benitez’s starting line-up.
