Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could make a bid for Arsenal target and Chelsea attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic in the January transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Newcastle would be willing to make a bid for Chelsea and USA international star Pulisic in the middle of the season.
Jones has noted that the 24-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, would not be considered a superstar by Newcastle owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Pulisic has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool as well.
The Daily Mail reported last month that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle all are keen on the American star.
Liverpool could also make a bid for the youngster at the right price.
Chelsea could cash in on Pulisic for £35 million, according to the report.

Newcastle could bid for Chelsea star Christian Pulisic
Jones wrote about Newcastle and Pulisic: “He is still someone that they’d be willing to consider. I think he does fit with where they’re headed in terms of recruitment.
“He wouldn’t be considered as a superstar coming in and that’s important. I think he would be a good fit for the style of play too.”
Could a January transfer happen?
In our view, Newcastle United may not be able to sign Christian Pulisic from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Yes, Newcastle are a wealthy club who are challenging for the Premier League top four this season, but there is no guarantee that they will eventually get into the UEFA Champions League places.
Pulisic is used to competing for league titles and playing in the UEFA Champions League with Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, and with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United also interested in him, we do not think that the the American star would be keen on a switch to Newcastle in the middle of the season.
