Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could make a bid for Chelsea and Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer of 2023, according to CMW.
Newcastle linked with Chelsea-owned Romelu Lukaku
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that if Newcastle are able to finish in the top four of the Premier League top four this season, then they will try to sign Lukaku from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
The 29-year-old striker, who played for Belgium at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, is on loan at former Serie A champions Inter at the moment.
The former Manchester United striker joined Inter from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2022.
Inter want to keep Lukaku on loan for next season as well, but Chelsea may not want that.
And this, according to the report, could allow Newcastle to make a swoop for the £350,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker.

Blockbuster signing
In our opinion, Chelsea-owned Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle United in the summer of 2023.
The 29-year-old is one of the best strikers around and has experience of playing in the UEFA Champions League.
Lukaku would be able to make an immediate impact at Newcastle if played to his strengths.
However, let us not get carried away.
Newcastle would have to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season first.
