Stuart Findlay has joined Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on loan until the end of the season from Newcastle.
Newcastle United have confirmed on their official website that defender Stuart Findlay will remain on loan at Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old has been on loan with the top-tier side since the start of the season under Steve Clarke, impressing at centre-back as Killie look to remain in the top six of the Scottish Premiership table come May.
Now, Rafa Benitez has allowed Findlay to remain north of the border with Killie after his initial loan with the club expired at the start of the January transfer window.
Findlay has managed just one senior appearance for Newcastle, as he remains behind the likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Chancel Mbemba, Florian Lejeune and Ciaran Clark in the St. James’ Park pecking order.
However, Findlay is still taking home a decent pay cheque at St. James’ Park according to the Daily Star, reportedly earning £5,000 a week and it is unclear whether Killie are contributing to that figure.
This season, Findlay has played 16 times for Kilmarnock this season, becoming somewhat of a mainstay under Clarke and even finding the back of the net against St. Johnstone. Where his long-term future lies, though, remains to be seen.
