Newcastle United continue to be linked with new faces ahead of the January transfer window, with Bournemouth duo Jefferson Lerma and Lloyd Kelly linked.

Eddie Howe is in as manager, and Newcastle will now look to back him with new signings in 2022.

90Min now claim that Bournemouth duo Lloyd Kelly and Jefferson Lerma are both on Howe’s wanted list.

Howe signed both players for Bournemouth, paying big money in the process.

Kelly cost £15million from Bristol City in 2019 whilst Lerma cost £25million from Levante a year earlier.

That’s £40million between them and Bournemouth may at least want their money back.

Left back has been a problem position for Newcastle for a while now, with Kelly also able to play as a left-sided centre back.

Lerma can bring real bite in midfield, but Bournemouth fans just aren’t having it.

Cherries supporters have taken to Twitter to suggest that there is ‘not a chance’ Kelly or Lerma would trade Bournemouth for Newcastle.

They feel that Bournemouth and Newcastle are moving in opposite directions right now and a move just wouldn’t make sense.

Others hope Howe doesn’t come back to haunt Bournemouth with a double move, but tend to think Newcastle have no chance.
