Celtic fans think Brendan Rodgers will still leave Leicester City for Newcastle United despite recent rumours.
Sky Sports have reported that the 48-year-old has ‘no interest’ in taking charge of the new cash-rich Newcastle.
It is said that he is committed to his current role in the Midlands and with 2021 FA Cup winners Leicester.
But Celtic fans aren’t having any of it because they have heard all of this before from their former record-breaking manager.
Similar noises were coming out when Rodgers was in the Parkhead dugout, then he opted to leave the Scottish giants for the Foxes midway through the season.
That move didn’t sit well with those in Celtic colours and it dampened the huge success Rodgers was at the club.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that some Celtic fans still feel that Rodgers could still be Newcastle bound.
Of course, Steve Bruce is still in the dugout, but it has been obvious for some while that he’s not going to be in the job for long.
Pushing for someone of Rodgers’ ilk isn’t a surprise because he does have the style of play, experience, ability to improve individual players and trophy success to suggest that he can be trusted with the gigantic project that is awaiting someone in the North East.
