Steve Bruce has hailed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as the difference between the two sides yesterday in the Chronicle.
Kane notched twice for Tottenham, as they beat Newcastle 3-1 at St. James’ Park.
The Spurs forward first headed home from a Steven Bergwijn cross, before he was there to tap home a rebound from an Erik Lamela shot late on.
And Kane’s ruthlessness in front of goal impressed Bruce, who was also happy with his Newcastle side’s display.
“Their attitude and application was excellent today and you don’t always get what you deserve,” Bruce said.
“We were naive after we equalised and we gave Harry Kane too much room. You know it’s a goal and that’s the difference, that quality at the top of the pitch.”
Kane’s double ended a mini-drought for the Tottenham striker and brought his tally to 21 for the season.

The England captain’s clinical finishing certainly did help Spurs, who had struggled to get possession of the ball at times during the contest.
Newcastle posed Tottenham some threat, especially in the first-half, but Jose Mourinho’s side stood firm to collect the three points.
Tottenham have now taken 10 points from their last four games and moved into seventh place.
