Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe rates Leeds United winger Jack Harrison highly, according to The Athletic.
The report published this morning has claimed that Newcastle retain an interest in Leeds star Harrison.
90min reported last week that Newcastle wanted to sign Harrison, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, in the summer transfer window and still remain keen on him.
However, Leeds plan to open talks with the Englishman and his representatives before January, according to the report.
The Athletic have reported this morning that although Howe really likes Harrison, described as ‘fantastic” by Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch in Leeds Live earlier this month, ‘he may once again prove unattainable’’.

Could Jack Harrison leave Leeds United for Newcastle United?
In our view, Leeds United are unlikely to be willing to sell Jack Harrison to Newcastle United or any other club in the January transfer window.
After all, Leeds would not want to lose any of their best players in the middle of the season.
And Harrison is hugely important for the West Yorkshire club.
The 25-year-old has scored one goal and given three assists in six Premier League appearances for Leeds so far this season.
