Newcastle United are a ‘serious option’ for Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby – and the German side are already lining up a replacement in Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Diaby has been simply sensational this season, smashing 13 goals and 12 assists in just 31 Bundesliga games for Leverkusen.
Just like another Bundesliga star in Christopher Nkunku, Diaby has excelled since leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
A winger with blazing speed and a superb left foot, Diaby has been hailed as ‘astonishing’ in Germany.
That form and that praise has unsurprisingly resulted in major interest in the French star.
Arsenal and Newcastle fight for Diaby
Most of the interest comes from the Premier League as things stand.
Sport1 reported in March that Arsenal were battling Manchester United and Newcastle United in the race to sign Diaby.
Kicker added more just days ago, claiming that Newcastle represent a ‘serious option’ for Diaby this summer.
That report added that Leverkusen are likely to demand at least €50million (£43million) for Diaby this summer.
That isn’t cheap at all but having dominated German football this season, it may just be worth it.
Leverkusen target Mudryk to replace Diaby?
Sport1 now suggest that Leverkusen are working on signing a winger who could replace Diaby in Mykhaylo Mudryk.
It’s stated that Leverkusen want to sign Mudryk in a deal worth around €20million (£17million).
Mudryk, 21, has bagged two goals and seven assists in 11 league games for Shakhtar Donetsk this season.
The Ukrainian looks set for a huge future and, amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Shakhtar may now lose a host of key players.
Mudryk is one such player and Leverkusen are working on a deal whilst knowing that Brentford, AC Milan, Juventus and Sevilla are keen.
That may only serve to push Diaby closer to Arsenal or Tottenham this summer with Leverkusen seemingly preparing for his exit.
