Foot Mercato report that Monaco are now planning for the exit of Benoit Badiashile, amid talks with West Ham and Newcastle. Indeed, Monaco have identified Brugge defender Stanley N’Soki as a replacement for Badiashile.

Newcastle and West Ham are in talks to sign the 20-year-old defender – as reported by FM. The Toon have been linked with the Frenchman over the past few days, while West Ham’s interest is said to be more long-standing.

The Mail claim that any move to sign the France Under-21 star would cost in the region of £35million. Newcastle want Badiashile given their lack of quality at centre-back, but are also eyeing Sven Botman and Diego Carlos.

Meanwhile, at West Ham, another option is needed with Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma injured. Now, both Premier League sides will be encouraged Monaco are going to sell – as Monaco eye Brugge’s N’Soki.

There is weight behind the story. Of course, new Monaco gaffer Philippe Clement worked with N’Soki at Brugge – having only just left the Belgian side to take over at Monaco. It makes sense he is eyeing the Brugge ace.

Which club needs Badiashile more? Well, West Ham do still have Issa Diop and Craig Dawson fit – while Declan Rice and potentially Aaron Cresswell can drop in. Zouma is closing in on a return to fitness.

But Newcastle simply lack quality. It is fair to say that none of their current options have impressed at any given stage this season – and Badiashile might not be the only centre-back signing on Tyneside this month.
