Newcastle United and West Ham are both reportedly keen on signing PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa, who the French club are eager to sell as soon as possible.
According to Foot Mercato, the Premier League sides have made approaches for the French fullback. Kurzawa has hardly featured for the Paris-based giants this season, with Mauricio Pochettino more than happy to sell the 29-year-old.
Kurzawa has made just one appearance this season despite featuring regularly for the UEFA Champions League side over the seasons. As per the report, Chelsea have been in contact with the defender, though a deal now looks unlikely.
With the transfer window ending tomorrow, time is running out for PSG to offload the France international. However, Newcastle and West Ham both look willing to take Kurzawa off their hands this January.
Both clubs are eager to strengthen the left-back position, with Newcastle in desperate need for added quality in the role. And Kurzawa could be an option for Eddie Howe’s side heading into the final hours of the window.
PSG would no doubt be open to selling the fullback for cheap, and with Newcastle and West Ham more than able to cover Kurzawa’s wages, the two Premier League clubs could do battle to sign the Ligue 1 defender.
Kurzawa could start a war between Newcastle and West Ham

Pochettino and Paris are eager to get Kurzawa off their books, and both Newcastle and West Ham could provide a decent home for the former AS Monaco star despite his lack of action this season.
The 29-year-old could be a decent option at left-back for either side, and with Newcastle and West Ham both needing to improve in the position, Kurzawa could be a bargain option for the Premier League clubs this January.
