West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United are among the quartet keen on Celtic target Charly Musonda.

The Scottish Sun reported back in December that Celtic were interested in a potential loan deal for Charly Musonda who had grown frustrated with his lack of opportunities at Chelsea this season.

Musonda is one of the extremely promising prospects coming through at Stamford Bridge who is perhaps facing a fairly uncertain future, especially now that the Blues have added Ross Barkley to their ranks during the January transfer window.

The Telegraph has now suggested that Chelsea now plan to send Musonda out temporarily following their £15 million acquisition of Barkley, and that may have perhaps left the Hoops optimistic that they may be able to get him in at Parkhead until the summer.

However, The Telegraph has also suggested that four Premier League sides – including West Brom and Newcastle – are keen on landing the 21-year-old.

Bournemouth and Watford are the other sides currently chasing the Belgian, according to The Telegraph, and it is surely fair to assume that the quartet’s interest will surely make it much harder for Celtic to get a deal across the line.

While the Bhoys have elevated a number of players in recent years, Chelsea may perhaps feel that loaning Musonda out to a Premier League side may make more sense.

He is perhaps marginally more likely to enjoy more first-team football with one of the four English sides interested and a move to the likes of West Brom or Newcastle would give the youngster the better opportunity to get more used to the Premier League ahead of his return to Chelsea in the summer.

It would undoubtedly be a major statement from Celtic if they managed to compete with the four top flight sides and win the race for Musonda, but perhaps Hoops fans should not get their hopes up with such a congested race seemingly set to ensue.
