Newcastle and Tottenham have made loan offers to sign Atletico Madrid ace Alvaro Morata – with his Juventus loan likely to come to an end. Reports from Spain suggest as much, and fans of both clubs have reacted.
Morata, 29, is struggling to replicate the form that saw him have a hand in 32 goals for Juventus last season – the first year of his two-season loan at Juve. He scored 20 times, laying on 12 assists in 44 games.
This time around, he has managed just eight goals in 29 appearances. Juve have decided to spend big and bring in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic for a deal expected to be worth around £70million.
It sees Morata fall down the pecking order and that is attracting English clubs, with Juve potentially ready to cancel his loan. Barcelona want him, but COPE say Diego Simeone is unwilling to strengthen a direct rival.
Instead, he is more than happy to offload Morata to an English club with Newcastle and Tottenham keen. Spain star Morata scored 16 goals in 47 games for Chelsea, when playing under Antonio Conte.

Back in Euro 2020, Morata came into the tournament in superb form. While Juve had missed out on the Serie A title, his goals and assists were crucial to Juve finishing in the top four under Andrea Pirlo.
But a dismal Euro 2020 in which he seemingly forgot his shooting boots has followed into 2021-22. He needs some confidence. Both sets of supporters have responded, and it is clear that fans of both want him signed.
