Sunderland fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the signing of former Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper.
Harper has joined Sunderland on a free transfer on a contract that runs until the end of the season.
The 40-year-old had been without a club since the end of the 2014-15 campaign when he left Hull City.
The Englishman will be Sunderland’s third-choice goalkeeper behind Vito Mannone and Jordan Pickford.
Harper, who played 199 times for Sunderland’s bitter rivals Newcastle from 1993 to 2013, has been signed as a replacement for Costel Pantilimon, who joined Watford this week.
Sunderland are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 18 points from 22 matches.
Newcastle currently find themselves 18th in the standings with 21 points from 22 games, a point behind 17th-placed Swansea City.
