Reported Newcastle United and Derby County target Kasey Palmer is set to join Blackburn Rovers from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Palmer will join Blackburn in the Championship on loan from Premier League side Chelsea.

Earlier this month, Sky Sports claimed of Derby County’s interest in the 21-year-old midfielder, while The Daily Mail (Transfer Live blog, 13:08pm, June 20, 2018) credited Newcastle with interest in the England Under-21 international midfielder – who earns £20,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com.

The Daily Mail has now claimed that Palmer is set to move to Blackburn on loan from Chelsea.

Missing out

Newcastle have already signed Kenedy on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and recruiting Palmer from the London club was not going to be an option once that deal went through earlier this month.

Derby are an ambitious club in the Championship, and Frank Lampard’s side could have done with a player of the 21-year-old’s quality and experience in the Championship.

Kennedy has played in the Championship with Huddersfield and spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Derby.
