Newcastle United are currently in the midst of a worrying run of form.
Magpies ace Matt Ritchie sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and made a plea with the Toon Army to keep up their vociferous support of the players.
Newcastle are currently in the midst of a woeful run of form that has seen them take only one point from their last five Premier League games, and they have dropped down to 15th position in the table, just five points clear of the drop zone.
Rafa Benitez will surely be looking to bolster his ranks at St James’ Park in the summer, but for the next few weeks he will have to make do with what he’s got, as he looks to guide his side away from trouble.
Ritchie himself has not been anywhere near his best in recent weeks, but he urged the Magpies faithful to stick with the players, as they try to fight their way out of the troublesome run that they are currently in the midst of, as quoted by NUTV:
“Most important is the present moment, three points is the most important thing on Saturday. We always need the support of the fans behind us. We need the support of the fans and the players get that feeling too. Hopefully that can be the case on Saturday.”
Next up for Rafa’s men is a pair of home games against Leicester City and Everton in the Premier League, and they will surely be targeting a minimum of four points from those matches, as they look to get their season back on track.
