Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has told The Mirror that he has heard of interest in his signature, and wants to speak to manager Rafael Benitez.
The Magpies forked out £13m to sign Mitrovic from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2015 (BBC Sport), and he was viewed as the long-term solution that Newcastle needed in the final third.
Nine goals in his first Premier League season was a decent return, but the Serb endured a difficult campaign this past season, scoring just four goals in 25 Championship appearances.

Newcastle’s promotion means that some players will be leaving the club this summer to make way for new signings, and Mitrovic may be one player at risk given recent speculation.
As noted by The Chronicle, Newcastle are looking to tie up a loan deal for Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham, and with Dwight Gayle already at the club, Mitrovic could be pushed down the pecking order.

The Mirror claimed last week that Newcastle are ready to cash in on Mitrovic if they can recoup more than £10million for him, with manager Benitez allegedly unconvinced about the striker’s temperament.
Now, Mitrovic – who scored for Serbia against Wales on Sunday – has commented on his future, admitting that he has heard of interest from other clubs, and he will listen to good offers for both himself and the club.

Mitrovic noted, whilst speaking to The Mirror, that he has three years left on his deal with Newcastle, but he wants talks with manager Benitez if there is interest in his signature as he looks to play first-team football.
“I heard something about other clubs,” said Mitrovic. “We will see. If some good offers for me – which are also good for the club – come in for me over the summer then we will speak about it. If it doesn’t happen then I’m still a Newcastle United player, I have three years on my contract.”
“So we have to speak to the club, to the manager and we will see. I’m happy there. We have a good team there and we are back in the Premier League but we have to see,” he added.
