New Zealand’s Chris Wood shoots at goal
Leeds United striker Chris Wood has just come off the back of a brilliant campaign in West Yorkshire. The New Zealand striker scored 30 goals in 48 games for the club and is now looking forward to a big summer with his international team.
The 25-year-old is set to captain the Kiwis at the Confederations Cup this summer, with West Ham United star and usual captain Winston Reid out of action after knee surgery.

His presence is certainly exciting one member of the New Zealand squad.
Kosta Barbarouses has been speaking to the press in New Zealand this week. The Wellington Phoenix attacker, 27, told TVNZ just how great it was to play regularly with the Leeds star for his country. He stated:

“Playing off a guy like Woodsy is great because even when the ball isn’t perfect in the air, or even along the ground, he does a great job of getting it under control.
“Running off him makes my job that little bit easier, having someone like that as a focal point.”
Wood will now be looking to impress with the All Whites in Russia this summer, before hopefully taking Leeds into another promotion fight.

He will be doing so under a new manager, if he does remain at Elland Road this summer, after Garry Monk’s shock departure.
Leeds fans will be hoping he does stick around and have a similarly impactful season in the Championship.
