The Kiwi boss has been linked with taking over from Nigel Pearson at the iPro Stadium.

New Zealand national coach Anthony Hudson has rubbished reports linking him with the vacant Derby County manager’s job – as reported by Stuff.

Derby County suspended Nigel Pearson recently and Chris Powell is currently in caretaker charge of the first-team duties.

The Sun reported yesterday that the All Whites boss was being earmarked as a potential surprise candidate for the job.

They claimed that the Rams hierarchy had been impressed by the 35-year-old, who has previously managed Newport County and spent time at Tottenham Hotspur under Harry Redknapp.

But Stuff report that Hudson has stated the interest ‘was news to him’ and that he ‘wasn’t interested.’

Furthermore, they reported that Hudson made it clear there had been no contact between himself and Derby County whatsoever.

It would appear that, even if Derby are interested in the 35-year-old, he is not keen on taking the job.

Current interim boss and former Rams player Powell remains the strong favourite to take the job at the iPro Stadium after a controversial and troubled start to the season for Derby County.

Hopefully the fans will get some stability soon as they look to push up the Championship table.
