Anderson made his debut for West Ham on Wednesday night.

Felipe Anderson of SS Lazio looks on during the serie A match between SS Lazio and UC Sampdoria at Stadio Olimpico on April 22, 2018 in Rome, Italy.

New West Ham United attacker and club-record signing Felipe Anderson has told the Hammers’ official website that he believes he has a similar style of play to that of Brazilian legend Ronaldo.

Anderson, 25, joined West Ham for a huge £47million earlier this summer after drawn out negotiations that saw West Ham and Lazio struggle to come to an agreement – with Lazio’s president Claudio Lotito playing hardball.

However, the one-time Brazil international has now arrived in east London and showed just what he is capable of by creating West Ham’s second with an excellent pass to Arthur Masuaku during the Hammers’ 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

Speaking to the club’s website in a Q & A session, Anderson was asked whether he prefers Ronaldinho or Ronaldo, and he answered the latter as he believes he can relate to the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan superstar.

“I identify with the way he [Ronaldo] plays, his pace,” Anderson said. “I think it’s because of this – I’m a fan of both of them and it’s a really tough question – but it’s Brazilian Ronaldo for me.”

Anderson is the headline signing among seven recruits made by Manuel Pellegrini this summer, including Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko.

West Ham are next in action against Ipswich Town on Saturday at Portman Road, the Hammers’ last pre-season fixture as they continue preparing for their Premier League opener against Liverpool on August 12.
