Joao Gomes has been linked with a move away from Molineux ever since Manchester United made their interest known. Since then, Crystal Palace have also entered the mix, and now there is a fresh update on the situation.
The Eagles seem to be keeping tabs on more than one Wolves player, with Jorgen Strand Larsen also reportedly on their radar.
Oliver Glasner is said to be pushing for additions as he looks to boost his squad for a Europa Conference League campaign, which could put Wolves in the spotlight.
Gomes was recently scouted by Matt Hobbs, now at Crystal Palace after leaving his role as Wolves’ sporting director earlier this year.
And the latest report suggests things may not be going Wolves’ way in this one.
Crystal Palace eye midfielder move to keep Oliver Glasner

Oliver Glasner’s time at Crystal Palace could be coming to an end after the season, with growing signs that the Austrian may move on.
The club are keen to keep him, though, and their efforts could end up affecting Wolves.
The Daily Mail reports that Palace are aiming to strengthen three positions in hopes of persuading Glasner to stay. One of those roles is in central midfield, and Joao Gomes has been mentioned as a potential target.
The outlet stated: “Palace may look to bring in a central midfielder, with Kamada likely to miss 10 weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered against Man City last month. Wolves’ Joao Gomes and Kevin Danois of Auxerre are two names that have been floated.”
Early in his tenure, Rob Edwards was assured none of Wolves’ key players would be sold. But recently, he has acknowledged they might need to sell before making any purchases.
Oliver Glasner’s future at Crystal Palace could play into Wolves’ hands
With Oliver Glasner’s role at Crystal Palace far from certain, Wolves might find themselves in a stronger position if they decide to move for the Brazilian midfielder.
The Austrian manager is now being linked to Manchester United following the sacking of Ruben Amorim, adding another club into the mix.
This leaves both of his potential destinations looking unsettled.
It is possible that Glasner could end up at Old Trafford in the summer and still make a move for the player then.
But from Gomes’ point of view, he will be looking for stability rather than stepping into another situation that might not last long.
