Tottenham Hotspur signing Davinson Sanchez’s performances have earned a seal of approval after he was nominated for a UEFA award.

Four Spurs players have been nominated for the UEFA Team of the Year, the club announced on their official website.

Along with Sanchez, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli were all named on the 50 man shortlist.

The quartet have been excellent in the Champions League this season, even Alli who has played just two games, has made a big impact in wins over Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

But it is Sanchez who may have the best chance of winning a place in the UEFA XI.

This is due to his exploits last season with Ajax, where he helped the Dutch side reach the final of the Europa League.

The Colombian international sent a message to fans on Twitter, promising there is more to come.

Sanchez has been a terrific signing for Spurs since arriving in the summer, slotting seamlessly into their team.

If he can win a place in UEFA’s Team of the Year it will underline the impact he has made, but his nomination is credit already to his performances.
