The Athletic reported on January 22 that Leeds United do not plan to part company with Tyler Roberts amid interest from Derby County.
The report claimed that although Derby, Bournemouth and Cardiff City all are interested in signing the striker on loan in the January transfer window, neither the Wales international nor his club Leeds are looking for a short-term move away.
The 21-year-old wants to stay at Elland Road, and the Whites do not want him to leave on loan either, according to the report.
However, a new report in The Athletic this morning has suggested that Derby have not given up on bringing the Wales international to the Pride Park Stadium on a loan deal.
The report has stated that the Rams are ‘looking to strengthen their attacking options’, and that Roberts is ‘a possibility’.
Stay or leave?
Roberts is not guaranteed a place in the Leeds starting lineup, and has made two starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season, according to WhoScored.
The youngster – has been on the books of Leeds since 2018 when he joined from West Bromwich Albion for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £2.5 million – could get more playing time at Derby, but staying at the West Yorkshire club and working with head coach Marcelo Bielsa on a daily basis will help him grow and develop.
