West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City fans should be warned going into the opening game of the season.
The new Premier League and EFL seasons get underway this weekend and next after the summer break.
New research by Bookmakers.tv has analysed each of England’s 92 football league clubs’ opening day results from the last decade.
And it doesn’t bode well for West Brom and Norwich fans with their clubs among the worst starters in the entire country over the last 10 years.
The Canaries, under new manager Daniel Farke, have just two wins from their last 10 opening day games and eight defeats leaving them 89th in the 92 team table.

And they have just one more point than the worst starters Barnsley and Bristol Rovers. That’s good news for Fulham who entertain Norwich in their first game of the new Championship season on Saturday.
The Baggies have to wait until next week to get their Premier League campaign underway against Bournemouth.
But Tony Pulis’ side are the fifth worst starters to new seasons over the last decade with two wins, two draws and six opening day defeats.
West Brom have also averaged less than a goal a game over those 10 and conceded 19 while Norwich have managed 11 goals in 10 and surrendered a whopping 25 goals.

Stevenage make up the bottom five teams.
But as any football fan knows it is very much a marathon and not a sprint and the real test comes when the novelty of the new season subsides and poor records are there to be broken.
