According to The Times, Lille central defender Gabriel has already undergone an Arsenal medical.
In a report published in The Times at 12pm today, it has been claimed that the Brazilian underwent a medical in France last week.
The 22-year-old has reportedly been offered a five-year contract worth £80,000 per week, and Arsenal are confident of announcing the transfer early this week.
The Gunners will pay Lille an initial transfer fee of £23.4 million for the Brazilian, who will have to self-isolate for 14 days after landing in England due to the government’s rules on quarantine, according to the report.
An earlier report in Gianlucadimarzio.com had claimed that Gabriel was to have a medical in London.
Exciting for Arsenal fans
Gabriel is a very talented and promising young left-footed central defender who has a bright future ahead of him.
With William Saliba also in the Arsenal fold after a loan spell at Saint-Etienne, head coach Mikel Arteta could have a new-look backline next season.

The Brazilian is only 22 years of age, and perhaps the youngster should not be put under too much pressure, but he is certainly a player who should excite the Emirates Stadium faithful.
According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old scored one goal in 24 Ligue 1 matches and played six times in the Champions League for Lille in 2019-20.
