Reported Rangers target Lyle Taylor has made a dramatic U-turn, according to The Sun.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to bring Taylor to Ibrox on a free transfer this summer, according to a report in TEAMtalk in May.
The 30-year-old striker is out of contract at Charlton Athletic at the end of the month, and Rangers are among a number of clubs who reportedly want to secure his services.
Taylor had initially decided not to train or play for Charlton this month, and he explained his stance to Sky Sports.
However, The Sun is now reporting that the striker has changed his mind, and will train and play for Charlton between now and the end of the month.
The report has claimed that the Montserrat international striker made the ‘dramatic U-turn’ after holding ‘peace talks’ with manager Lee Bowyer.
Bad for Rangers?
Taylor training and playing for Charlton in the Championship this month means that there is a chance – howsoever small – that he could get injured.
However, the striker changing his mind shows that he cares and wants to honour his contract, and it tells a lot about him as a footballer and as a person.
This will certainly encourage Rangers, as manager Steven Gerrard wants players who will fight for the cause.
