New Rangers loan signing Sean Goss finds an old foe as a new teammate.
Glasgow Rangers tied up a loan deal for midfielder Sean Goss yesterday, bringing the youngster to Ibrox until the end of the season.
Goss join from QPR and hopes to become a regular for Graeme Murty’s side.
One of the players he will be competing for position with at Rangers is Jordan Rossiter, who Goss is familiar with already – as an opponent.
Goss is a former Manchester United talent, and went up against Rossiter when he was at Liverpool.
The Liverpool Echo reported in 2015 how Rossiter was looking to make a big impact by returning in the under-23 derby after a spell out injured – (sound familiar Rangers fans?)
His hopes were dashed, by Sean Goss scoring a 89th minute winner for United.
Both players have since departed their respective Premier League giants, with limited success.
It may be unfair to call Rossiter a flop at Rangers due to his ongoing injury problems, but he can not say he has lived up to expectations either.
Goss has not established himself at QPR either, and both players could be scrapping for the same spot at Rangers if Rossiter is fit.
Competition can be a motivating factor, and if Rossiter steps up and keeps Goss on the sidelines, at least the Gers will have found out a little more about their former Liverpool talent and how to get the best out of him.
