Rangers announced the signing of Eduardo Herrera last night.
New Rangers signing Eduardo Herrera
Rangers signing Eduardo Herrera is excited for this season’s clashes with Celtic and is targeting trophies with the club.
Speaking to Rangers’ official website after his transfer was announced, Herrera spoke of his excitement at his move to Scotland.
The striker signed from Mexican side Pumas, and played previously under Gers boss Pedro Caixinha at Santos Laguna.
He said: “The club and the history is very important to me, I looked up the stadium, Ibrox, and it is an amazing stadium. When I imagined playing there it was a big part of my decision to come here.
“I know it is a league with a lot of history, especially the Old Firm games which is special and I hope I can score a lot of goals here and celebrate them with the fans.
“I am committed to do it very well and to work very hard to achieve many goals and titles.”
Rangers signing Eduardo Herrera
Herrera has his work cut out propelling Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title, with the Gers finishing 39 points behind Celtic last season.
Yet it is no good having a mentality to aim for second, and with this being the start of a new era at Rangers there is a positive vibe about Ibrox right now.
Not all of Pedro Caixinha’s summer signings may work out, but Herrera is a player used to dealing with pressure having represented Mexico at international level.
He might just turn out to be absolutely key to Rangers’ revival.
