Newcastle United striker Joselu has put out a message on social media suggesting that he is ‘focused’ for this weekend’s match, but he may not have got the response he desired.
Newcastle signed Joselu from Stoke City, and he has been thrown straight into their first-team by Rafael Benitez.
The Spaniard’s physicality has helped Newcastle improve, with his link-up play aiding the North East side.
However, Joselu has been guilty of missing a number of gilt-edged chances, and he still only has scored one goal for the club.
And Newcastle fans appear to be growing frustrated with Joselu’s profligacy in front of goal.
Joselu was guilty of wasting a huge amount of opportunities in Newcastle’s last match, which they lost 1-0 against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The target-man could now find his place under threat, with Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar MItrovic both available.
Mitrovic had been suspended, but he is now back – and could come into Newcastle’s line-up for their meeting with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
