Aston Villa are set to announce their new manager, according to owner Tony Xia.
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to reveal that the club intend to announce their new signing on Wednesday.
Villa sacked manager Roberto Di Matteo after just 124 days in the job last Monday, after the Italian won just one of his 11 Championship games in charge.

Having clearly got the Di Matteo appointment wrong, owner Xia needs to get the next one right, given that Villa have gone through the likes of Paul Lambert, Tim Sherwood and Remi Garde in recent year.
A host of names have been linked with the job, but it seems that Steve Bruce is closing in on the job having left Premier League side Hull City over the summer.

The 55-year-old isn’t a preferred option for many fans given that he used to play for and manage fierce rivals Birmingham City, but his record of four promotions from the second tier to the Premier League makes him ideal for Villa.
The Mirror reported earlier this evening that Villa’s players have been made aware that Bruce is set to become the club’s new manager – and owner Xia has added weight to that with a blockbuster tweet this evening.

Xia revealed that Villa are set to announce their new manager on Wednesday, and urged fans to give the man their full backing ahead of this weekend’s local derby with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Here is Xia’s message to Villa fans tonight, as the club gear up to name their new manager…
