Thomas Tuchel told his pre-match press conference that Tottenham are now ‘one of the biggest’ clubs in England and in Europe ‘for sure’ after their runs in the Champions League and move into the new stadium.
The former Dortmund boss, who locked horns with Spurs during their days at White Hart Lane, also shared that the atmosphere and their old ground was ‘amazing’.
Whilst Tuchel enjoyed his visits to Tottenham before, it’s a completely different ball game now that he is Chelsea boss.
Ahead of tonight’s match, Tuchel shared his thoughts on the job Mauricio Pochettino did at Tottenham and their old ground.
“He had a big, big impact in the development of that squad,” said Tuchel. “It was a great experience personally for me to play with Dortmund at White Hart Lane and to have the chance to play them in European competition.
“We managed to win both those games, which was a big achievement and a pure joy to be there because it was with spectators. It was an amazing atmosphere and a big challenge and for us a big, big win.
“Of course, over the years, Mauricio Pochettino implemented a certain style and they had good runs also in the Champions League. They went far.
“From my point of view, from the outside, with the new stadium they entered a new level of clubs and they are one of the biggest clubs in England and in Europe, for sure.”

Tuchel is only in the Chelsea job because Roman Abramovich ruthlessly sacked Frank Lampard last month.
Whilst Daniel Levy won’t push that panic button, these are certainly worrying times for those in North London.
Three points tonight against Chelsea and then it’s a different ball game, but another defeat and the pressure will seriously mount on Jose Mourinho.
