Leeds United youngster Paudie O’Connor had a tough start on his debut.

Leeds United new boy Paudie O’Connor made his first appearance for the club last night, starting for the under-23s against QPR.
O’Connor was a recent signing from Irish club Limerick, and is a 19-year-old centre-back.
He will only be eligible to play for the first team from next season, having joined outside the transfer window, and is using this time to get up to speed and try and get into the mix.
His first start for the under-23s did not begin particularly well, with O’Connor giving away a penalty just 13 minutes into his debut.
Fortunately for O’Connor his blushes were spared as QPR missed the spot kick, but they would go on to convert another later in the first half.
O’Connor and Leeds managed to shut QPR out for the rest of the game, but couldn’t find the net themselves, losing 1-0.
The Irishman rounded off his evening by picking up a yellow card in stoppage time for a late foul.
His bad start was unfortunate, but this game was all about O’Connor adjusting to playing in England and getting used to representing Leeds.
With his first appearance under his belt, he will hope to kick on and matches will begin to feel more routine, rather than being nerve racking affairs. O’Connor is just getting started.
