Tyler Adams has told LUTV that his friends have said to him the Elland Road atmosphere is one of the best they have ever played in – after Leeds United confirmed the arrival of the midfielder on a five-year deal.

Adams, 23, has put pen to paper on a contract until 2027. Just two days after the Whites said goodbye to Kalvin Phillips. The £20million addition is seen as a direct replacement for Phillips, with Luis Sinisterra also set to join.

He becomes the third signing that Jesse Marsch has previously worked with, and the fifth in total. Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson worked with Marsch at Salzburg, while Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi have joined.

Speaking to LUTV after his arrival was announced just after 5pm on Wednesday, Adams spoke of how his friends in the game have told him that the Leeds atmosphere is one of the best in world football.

“So far, what I’ve heard is that it [atmosphere] is electric. Talking to my friends, they say it is one of the best atmopsheres they have ever played in. So to have those fans supporting me is something special,” Adams said.

Adams: Friends have said Leeds atmosphere is one of the best

The history, the size of the club, the only club in the city, Leeds have plenty of pull. But the atmosphere of Elland Road is right up there, too. It gives them a huge chance of pulling big-name players from clubs such as Leipzig.

Kristensen is said to have rejected Champions League clubs to join Leeds. To bring in Adams, a player with almost 200 club appearances and 19 USA caps at just 23 for £20million, is a wonderful bit of business.
