The Sheffield United right-back has been repeatedly linked with a move to Celtic.

A summer move to Celtic now looks very much off the cards for the Sheffield United right-back, George Baldock.

Baldock has been repeatedly linked with Celtic throughout the summer transfer window, which remains open for Scottish clubs.

And the Daily Record reported last month that the Bhoys were considering an ‘increased bid’ for the 26-year-old, having failed with a £3 million bid.

But Baldock, who has begun the campaign as first-choice in a Sheffield United side which has taken four points from its opening two fixtures, has now committed his long-term future to the Blades.

The Milton Keynes native signed an improved contract at Bramall Lane, extending his stay by another two years until 2022.

Celtic have already added one new right-back this summer, in the shape of Hatem Abd Elhamed, but could look to strengthen their options, which have been depleted by the departures of Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan since the end of last season.

Who should Celtic target instead of the Sheffield United right-back?
