Ajax’s Donny van de Beek is allegedly interested in a move to Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur will almost certainly sign at least one central midfielder this summer – and Ajax star Donny van de Beek is one name mentioned in the mix.

The Daily Mail reported last month that Spurs are in the race to sign Van De Beek, challenging Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the battle for a £45million deal.

Van de Beek starred in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals, and ended the season with 16 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, with one of those goals coming against Tottenham.

The Dutchman, 22, is such a well-rounded midfielder, possessing strength, stamina, technical ability on the ball and a real goal threat, and his ability to play deep, box-to-box or further forward makes him an outstanding player.

Ajax have already lost Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona, and they now face losing Van de Beek too, amid new claims from Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan.

Van der Kraan has told talkSPORT that Van de Beek has his sights set on a move to the Premier League, noting that he wants a move to Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur.

Both clubs are keen, and Van der Kraan believes that the chance to join either club would be ‘right up his street’ according to the midfielder’s agent.

That gives Tottenham renewed hope of a deal for the Dutchman, but they’ll have to move quickly if they want to bring him in, which has been a problem for Spurs in recent transfer windows.
