Celtic new boy Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo says he shut out early criticism of his performances.
Bolingoli-Mbombo experienced a tough August, but over the past few weeks he has kicked on and begun to show what he is capable of.
The left-back told a press conference, posted via Celtic’s twitter feed, that while he was aware of some criticism, he paid it no attention.
Bolingoli-Mbombo said: “I don’t see the criticism. I just focus on my football. I know my qualities and I knew myself that I just needed a little bit of time. But I’m happy now that I can help the team and hopefully I can just become a better and better player.
“In the beginning, when you arrive at a new club, it takes a bit of time to settle in but as you see, I’m enjoying every game and it’s amazing to play in Paradise, so I feel more comfortable now.”
Stepping in for Kieran Tierney was always going to be tough for the player Celtic chose as his replacement.
He joined at a tricky time, in the midst of the Champions League qualifiers, and he was controversially dropped for Callum McGregor for the fateful home defeat to Cluj.
The 24-year-old Belgian is now establishing himself for Neil Lennon’s side who are on a winning streak, once again.
