Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Steven Gerrard to Ibrox as the Gers manager and successor to Graeme Murty.

Rangers are confident of appointing the former Liverpool midfielder as the Gers manager, according to BBC Sport.
Sky Sports has reported that Gerrard will continue to hold talks with the Ibrox club this month.
Former Scotland international winger Nevin, who played for Chelsea and Everton among clubs in England, has suggested the kind of assistant manager Gerrard will need to bring with him to Ibrox.

While stating that the former Los Angeles Galaxy star should get an assistant manager “preferably 10-15 years older”, Nevin told BBC Sport: “That was another statement I wasn’t convinced by – that people would come because Steven Gerrard is there.
”You won’t get the very top-level players. Then again, not many of them come to Scotland – they want to get to England or wherever.”

Good advice
Gerrard has been in charge of the Liverpool Under-18 side since the summer of 2017 and is still learning about the coaching and management side of things.
Nevin’s advice makes sense. For the Liverpool legend to be a success at Rangers, he needs experienced coaches who have worked in the game before and who can advice him on major decisions.
Rangers’ 5-0 defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend once again highlighted the gap between the two Glasgow giants.
