Premier League side Everton were knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship outfit Millwall on Saturday evening.
Neville Southall has urged Everton boss Marco Silva to ‘sort out the squad once and for all’ following their surprise 3-2 FA Cup defeat to Millwall on Saturday evening.
Neil Harris’ side netted a last-minute winner in front of their own supporters [BBC Sport] despite the Premier League team taking the lead on two occasions during the match.
Silva named a strong starting XI against the London outfit, with the likes of Michael Keane, Andre Gomes, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson all named in the line-up.
But that was not enough to secure their passage into the next round as Southall sent this message to Silva on his personal Twitter account after the match.
Richarlison gave the away team the lead when his long-range effort found the back of the net before Lee Gregory equalised just before the break.
The Toffees took the lead once again in the second half, this time substitute Cenk Tosun was the goalscorer but Millwall hit back through Jake Cooper’s controversial equalising goal.
Then deep into injury time, Murray Wallace fired in from close range following a set-piece situation to send the home supporters into dreamland.
For Everton, they are now out of all cup competitions and will be looking to bounce back when they travel to bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield on Tuesday in the Premier League.
It remains to be seen if Silva makes changes to his starting XI or if he drops any of his senior stars after their poor showing at the weekend.
