Gary Neville has criticised Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko for his reaction to the second goal for Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Friday evening.

The former Manchester United defender said on Sky Sports Premier League (8:14pm, April 21, 2023) that it was strange that Arsenal left-back Zinchenko called for a huddle immediately after Southampton went 2-0 up.

A bad mistake from Aaron Ramsdale saw Southampton take the lead in the Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium inside the very first minute.

Then on 14 minutes, the Saints, who are fighting for survival in the Premier League this season, went 2-0 up in North London.

Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott was the goalscorer for Southampton.

Immediately after the second goal for Southampton, Zinchenko, who can also operate in midfield, called for a huddle.

Former Manchester United defender Neville was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports.

And the pundit was shocked by the reaction of Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal from defending Premier League champions Manchester City for £30 million (Sky Sports) in the summer transfer window.

Neville said: “Zinchenko is calling a huddle. I have to say he would have been better off getting round his centre-back than calling a huddle. This is extremely strange, extremely strange. It’s all a little odd.”
