Tottenham Hotspur are seven points behind Chelsea.

A perfect weekend for Tottenham Hotspur saw them clinch an impressive away win while their rivals faltered.

Chelsea’s loss to Crystal Palace meant Spurs climbed to just seven points behind the Blues, with Liverpool in third a further three points further back.

Speaking to SkySports, pundit duo Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher believe Tottenham can continue to put the pressure on Chelsea.

Neville said: “If Tottenham can play before Chelsea regularly and put pressure onto close that gap, they can get Chelsea going to sleep on Saturday nights thinking ‘if we don’t win tomorrow they’re nearly there’, they can have a psychological effect.”

Carragher added that he feels Spurs are the only team capable of stepping up.

He added: “If Tottenahm can keep going, they’ll be the ones not City [catching Chelsea]. We could have a title race.”

Chelsea had in the eyes of most, been nailed on to clinch the league, but their double figures points advantage being whittled down to seven has sewn a few seeds of doubt.

The Blues face Manchester City at home in their next fixture, before away games against Bournemouth and Manchester United.

Spurs play at the same time at Chelsea on Wednesday evening, but kick off their Saturday fixture at home to Watford at 12.30pm, with Chelsea playing at 5.30pm, allowing them a chance to pile the pressure on the Blues as Neville suggests.
