Manchester United are interested in signing Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers on transfer deadline day, according to The Express.
What’s the story?
The Express are reporting this morning (9:05am) that United are looking into the possibility of bringing Neves from Wolves to Old Trafford today.
The Premier League giants are ‘pondering a late move for Neves’, according to the report.
It has been suggested that United could include attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard to sweeten the deal.
Could a transfer happen?
Neves is one of the best players at Wolves and is a key figure at the Wanderers.
Former Wolves manager Nuno, now the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, called Neves as “a fantastic player” in May 2021, as quoted in The Express & Star.
It is hard to envisage Wolves selling the 24-year-old Portugal international midfielder on transfer deadline day.

Of course, every player has his price, but it is now too late for Wolves to bring in a suitable replacement.
Wolves are an established club in the Premier League who had a disappointing season in 2020-21.
Surely the Wanderers will want to do better this time around, which means that they have to keep hold of Neves.
