Speaking on the Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Micah Richards has been discussing Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.

The pundit was tasked with ranking the 10 greatest managerial rivalries in Premier League history, and inevitably, Klopp vs Guardiola made the list.

Richards couldn’t separate the two managers in terms of ability, but he reserved special praise for Klopp, stating that nobody could have ever predicted him to achieve what he has at Liverpool.

What’s been said about Klopp?

Richards discussed Klopp’s impact at Liverpool.

“People always ask, who is the better manager? They’ve both spent money. Pep has changed how English football is seen and played, but Klopp. Think about what Klopp is done since he came to Liverpool, you never would have thought that could happen, ever. Winning a Champions League, winning a league, Club World Cup, what he’s done has been astonishing,” Richards said.

Jurgen Klopp took over Liverpool when they were at one of their lowest ebbs.

The Reds were struggling under Brendan Rodgers, their best players had left the club and the team was in turmoil.

However, just six years on, the Reds are now arguably the best team in the world, and if they complete this mythical quadruple, they may well go down as the greatest team ever.

Klopp has surpassed every single expectation and he’s already achieved more than anybody probably thought was possible when he was hired.

The German will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest managers in history.
