Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Tyler Adams has been reacting to his stats from the new FIFA game.

Adams isn’t rated as one of the best players in the Premier League in this edition of the game, but it wasn’t his overall rating that he was most upset about.

Indeed, Adams had complaints about his pace rating, scoring just 80 on that metric.

In context, the likes of Brendan Aaronson, Patrick Bamford and Luis Sinisterra all rank higher than Adams in terms of speed within the game.

Adams is far from happy to say the least, stating that he’s most definitely on par with his USMNT teammate Aaronson.

Adams’ pace complaints

The midfielder wasn’t best pleased about his pace rating on the new game, especially when compared to Aaronson.

“The pace is criminal, Brendan is faster than me, if you watch any game he’s never outrunning me, that’s just not happening,” Adams said.

“To be fair if there are two people who can keep up with each other it’s him and me, he runs a lot as well, if he’s tired I pick up the slack and if I’m tired he picks up the slack.

Fair assessment

Adams has every right to be a bit peeved by his pace rating on FIFA 23.

The American is genuinely one of the quicker midfielders in the Premier League, and while a rating of 80 isn’t bad at all, you could probably boost that by four or five if we’re being fair.

Based on just the eye test, we’d say that Adams is quicker on the pitch than someone like Bamford who scores 82 for pace, so perhaps the midfielder should receive an upgrade in that department.

By the time FIFA 24 comes around, Adams may well have shown EA Sports that he deserves a higher pace rating.
