Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Isaac Hayden has been discussing Newcastle teammate Allan Saint-Maximin and his incredible raw ability.

The Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players in the Premier League. He’s got electric pace and a pair of the quickest feet we’ve ever seen.

Hayden says that he’s never seen a player like Saint-Maximin before, claiming that he’s got more raw ability than any other player in the Premier League.

What’s Hayden said about Saint-Maximin?

Hayden had nothing but good things to say about his teammate.

“In terms of raw ability, Allan, I’m telling you, I’ve never seen anything like it before. There isn’t a player in the Premier League who has the raw ability that he as. It’s outrageous,” Hayden said.

“Obviously you have all of the other players, and I’m not saying he’s the best player in the Premier League, but the raw ability, genuinely raw ability, it’s frightening. When he dribbles and beats three or four players you’re thinking ‘how’s he done that’, and he doesn’t know either. It’s like FIFA, it’s like someone else is controlling him and we’re just mannequins.”

Scarily good

Hayden is absolutely right about Saint-Maximin, he’s a scary player.

Just imagine being a defender tasked with keeping tabs on Saint-Maximin, you wouldn’t know whether you were coming or going.

This is a player who can beat you with pace, tricks or a long-range shot. Do you stick tight to him or give him space? Which foot do you show him onto? These are questions that are tough to answer, and defenders need to make these decisions in a matter of milliseconds.

Saint-Maximin isn’t the finished product, but if he continues to improve he could easily become one of the Premier League’s best attackers.
