Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Club announced that Matty Cash had been named in the Poland squad.
What’s the story?
Well, just days after being granted Polish citizenship, the £16m Aston Villa man has been named in Paulo Sousa’s squad for the first time.
Cash will be involved in Poland’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Andorra on Friday 12th November.
The 24-year-old will also be part of the squad for the clash against Hungary on Monday 15th November.
It’s certainly an exciting time in Cash’s footballing career.
International recognition is a unique thing in football, and the right-back will now get the chance to achieve greatness alongside Robert Lewandowski.
Aston Villa may soon have another Matty Cash situation

Gareth Southgate has an abundance of world class right-backs to choose from, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James.
As a result, the £65,000-a-week man made the right decision.
Interestingly, the Villans could have another player looking to switch allegiance soon in Ezri Konsa – in our view, at least.
The centre-back, who is continuously overlooked by Southgate, is eligible to represent Portugal.

In our view, he is currently good enough to represent the Three Lions, so it may be a decision he considers if Southgate keeps leaving him out.
Bizarrely, Konsa is arguably better than Tyrone Mings, who keeps getting called up ahead of him!
For now, let’s see what the Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been saying about Cash’s inclusion in the Poland squad…
