Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted a tweet about Louie Barry yesterday, regarding an achievement of his.

Yesterday, it was announced that the 17-year-old had won the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January following a fine run of form.

Barry beat the highly-rated Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun to the award, as well as Tottenham’s Kion Etete, Manchester United’s Joe Hugill, Reading’s Ethan Bristow, Leicester’s Jacob Wakeling and Everton’s Rhys Hughes.

The Aston Villa wonderkid made his first-team debut during January, starting the FA Cup clash against Liverpool where he famously scored an equaliser.

After that incredible moment against the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, Barry’s fine form continued.

The teenager netted four goals in just two Premier League 2 outings after his stunning first-team exploits, and has deservedly won the award.

Three of those came in one game as he scored a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Norwich City to help Mark Delaney’s side get the win.

Barry also scored the decisive goal against Midlands rivals West Brom in a narrow 2-1 win.
