Gary Neville has said on the Sky Sports podcast that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane will not allow speculation over his future to affect his performances at Euro 2020.
Kane’s apparent desire to leave Tottenham has been heavily documented over recent weeks.
Indeed, Neville actually conducted at interview with the Spurs striker, which added fuel to the fire that he could leave the North London club.
However, despite the rumours over his club future, Neville rejected the claim that Kane could go into Euro 2020 distracted.
“I think if it was a player who sought the attention and was emotional about it, it would cause a big problem,” he said.
“But this is honestly not even going to break his stride. Gareth Southgate won’t concern himself about it for one second.
“Harry Kane is a complete professional, totally focused, he will not consider his future during this tournament. He will know how big this tournament is for himself and his country.

“[He is] ice-cold. They will do their jobs and not let things affect them.
“Gareth Southgate and myself, working with England and knowing him a little bit, would never in a million years think it’ll be a distraction. It will not cause England a problem.”
England expects
England will certainly be praying that Neville’s claims are true and that Kane does produce his best on the international stage.
The Tottenham man is so important to his country as their main goalscorer, and Neville went on to label him as England’s best player in the interview.
Kane has just enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career for Tottenham, where he netted 23 Premier League goals.
The Spurs man also won the golden boot at the World Cup in 2018 – the last competition he went to with England.
And if he could repeat a similar performance here, then his value would only be set to sky-rocket, which could play right into Tottenham’s hands.
